Apple Root Centrepiece Bowl

This apple root bowl has a length of 14” and is 10” wide and 4” deep. Dug from my backyard after over 10years decaying the root had to be throughly cleaned. Mounting the piece on the lathe was demanding and dangerous but the resulting bowl was worth the effort. Several hours were spent sanding and then coating the piece with sealer and shellac.
